Weight Loss - Thyroid Underactive

Pack: 100 ml / 8 weeks supply
Dose: 15 drops added to liquid and taken three times daily.

Underactive thyroid is given as a semi-scientific reason for many weight problems and this is to some extent true. People whose metabolism runs slowly almost always have more problem losing weight than others.

However, this can be another one of those times when we blame one particular organ and then try to manipulate the speed of functioning of this organ chemically without ever asking why on earth the thyroid is running too slowly. Again, there are a couple of diseases which can account for hyperactive thyroid but nothing much to account for the amount of hypo-activity which is found.

Herbal support to regulate thyroid is pretty simple and usually just consists of a herb called Blue Flag and another Bladderack (Giant Kelp). The Blue Flag is a glandular regulator and Kelp has all the trace elements, which are essential to proper thyroid function.

When one examines the esoteric explanations for low thyroid however, one comes up with much more useful information and insight. The thyroid is located in the throat Chakra and slow thyroid function reflects not seeing the truth about ones owns personal needs and desires.

An over caring type of person may fall into this category as some of them sacrifice their own needs in the service of others. Some of these will be the compulsive responsibility takers and they have keen insight into how other people should behave in order to manage their responsibilities or run their lives.

What they are doing however is also using all this over activity to avoid confronting the issues, which need to be addressed for the own personal fulfillment. If these issues are not addressed, it can lead one to become martyred and resentful and liable for gall problems as well as a myriad of gynecological problems.

It is easy to appreciate why herbs alone will never help the low thyroid in the long term without quite a lot of self reflection and changes in attitudes.

The low thyroid person needs to learn to let go of their fears and judgments and learn to take risks. They can continue to be just as responsible and caring but also, at times be selfish, in the sense of realizing very important but barely acknowledged personal needs and desires.

My low thyroid weight support program contains; Alfalfa, Blue Flag, Chamomile, Fenugreek, Gentian, Kelp, St Mary's Thistle and a selection of appropriate Bach Flower remedies.

15 drops three times per day taken in water and with a little self reflection and time out should start you on the path toward being able to control your weight.
