Constipation Herbal Treatment
Constipation refers to a condition of having uncomfortable or infrequent bowel movements. It can be caused by both physical and psychological factors.
Fibre in the diet and sufficient fluids are essential for smooth and regular bowel function.
Dosage :- 10 - 30 drops taken at night.
100ml for $58
Occasional constipation may simply result from a change in diet, a decrease in physical exercise, a course of medicine, over the counter antacids or even a trip away from home that puts your regular routines out of "wack".
The best and most gentle laxative for this type of constipation is a herb called Cassia, which you may have heard of as "Senna".
Senna is not habit forming and can be safely taken by old people, pregnant ladies and young children.
Sometimes it can be found as 'Sennakot" tablets or Senna Pods which you can steep in cold water 6-8 pods then drink.
Build up the dose from 10 drops if needed.
Olive Oil acts as a very good laxative so enjoy a good dressing of it on your salads.
Dosage :- 10-30 drops to be taken at night.
100ml for $58
Chronic constipation may begin insidiously and persist for months or even years if not addressed.
This type of constipation may also be caused by not enough fibre in the diet, an underactive thyroid, a bowel obstruction, poor blood supply to the large bowel, an inactive colon and also where the message to pass a motion is not occurring which is indicative of a nerve problem.
Due to all these possible causes it is best to submit to an on-line consultation to identify the real reasons behind this serious and uncomfortable condition.
The mix will include various herbs to not only stimulate but also sooth the large intestine, soften the hard faeces, and contain minerals that gives you the message to go to the toilet, Liquorice, Cascara, Mugwort, Senna, Burdock, Marshmallow and Slippery Elm as well as the Bach Flowers Honeysuckle, Vine, Mimulus, Rock Water and Wild Rose.
On an emotional level the colon represents our ability to let go, to release that which we no longer need. Our body needs a balance of intake and elimination. Are you fearful, stingy or do not trust that there will be enough for all.
Do you hold onto old clothes, habits, painful relationships and a stifling job. Maybe you need to trust a little more that life will bring what you need.
